> 19/04/2005 : Press pack - International congress of myology - Nantes - 9 to 13 May 2005
Understanding the muscle and curing its diseases: the era of trials in man

Moving, reaching out a hand, walking, jumping, getting up - but also breathing, digesting and eating - all these daily gestures that we ask our body to perform in order to function correctly depend on its 500 or so muscles. And these represent 40% of our body weight. To take stock of our present state of knowledge of the muscle and its diseases, the AFM is organising its second congress devoted to myology, in Nantes from 9 to 13 May. In recent years, myology has become one of the world's "beacon disciplines" of clinical research.
